1/18/2017 · As an UG, I taught myself biochemistry using 2nd edition Lehninger (waaaaaay back in 1999). I found the book to be very informative, easy to read, with plenty of helpful pictures and diagrams. I also took graduate biochemistry last year. Our recommended text was Voet&Voet. What a waste of money.

Finally, I did biochem questions from Pre-Test, the best way to reenforce what I had just heard and read from Najeeb and Lippincott, and I used First Aid to review questions I had gotten wrong or to clarify the explanations for the wrong answers. Biochem is huge, especially for path, so learn it realllly freaking well.

3/21/2010 · My favorite introductory chemistry book is Zumdahl's "Chemistry". Any edition will do. It provides a clear and good introduction to what would be taught in an introductory class. But if you want a book that will get her excited about chemistry, maybe this wouldn't be the best choice.
